I need to lose 40-50 pounds. Helpppp.

I'm turning 17 in a week and I decided that its time I quit being a chubby teenager. I need help, though. I know that you have to burn more calories than you consume in order to lose weight. And I WANT to lose at least one pants size by the time school starts. But I'm still going to exercise and diet when school comes back. Anywho, I started riding my exercise bike last Tuesday and I had been riding it for an hour, and I started lifting weights(just 15 pound arm weights), annnnd I started doing sit ups. I do 100 sit ups a day now. OH, and I just recently started riding the exercise bike for two hours. I started that last night. I'm rambling, but help pleaseeee.

Go to youtube and type in "How I lost weight".
They have some good advice.

Hi, first let me congratulate you on beginning your weight loss journey. It takes alot of courage and effort. Its good that you are doing a lot of cardio because that will help you burn fat but you need to do more resistance training than just lifting weights with your arms and 100 situps. The key to weight loss is quality not quantity. Sometimes when you overdo workouts you may cause stress hormones to be released which can cause you to not lose any fat or gain muscle. You need a balanced program so that you do not end up dieting and exercising your whole life. Trust me I know because I have done it before. It has to be a lifestyle change. I would suggest you get the following books to help you with your weight loss: Escape Your Weight: Diets and Exercise Alone Won't Work, This Proven Plan Will! by Edward J. Jackowski and Escape Your Shape: How to Work Out Smarter, Not Harder by Edward J. Jackowski. Edward J. Jackowski, Ph.D. is the fitness expert who analyzes the effects of exercises on different body types. His program is very effective and does not require alot of money wasted on equipment.
