When exercise equipment like bikes, treadmills, trampolines get boring- make sue you wither have the TV or radio on and for me it is the radio and my ijump trampoline and I bounce for one song then pop on the computer and check emails, facebook, here etc then back on for one song - it is about 3 mins per song and I do about 400 steps per song... my heart rate goes up then comes down while I move to the computer, seems to keep my matabolism kicked into gear and also I dont notice the 30 mins of jumping during the hour in the moring and hour in the afternoon I do this. 8000 steps achieved, 2 hours with no eating, and better matabolism and blood pressure.

Seriously, if you don't like just swimming, get an aquajogger belt. Its a fabulous workout!
I guess I will join the Senior Citizens down at the Y!!!! Just joking!!! LOL!!!!! Yes, swimming is great exercise....and I do have a pool...now to get me to do it instead of just floating around...hmmmmmm......

That's too bad. That really limits your exercising.
I walk 3 miles a day, and decided last week that I would jog 1 mile and walk 2. It definitely increased my heart rate and sped up my time, but I'm beginning to feel a lot of discomfort in my right knee, due to an old injury.
I hate it, because I'm so wanting to lose weight and really get into shape and now my body is showing it's age and won't let me do what I want to do! Lol
That is the problem...I would love to walk outside but I have terrible shin splints from the early eighties high impact aerobics, plus a bad left knee. So, I have to do the elliptical or a bike....I know that I would truly get into running, but I just can't do it. And the elliptical gets VERY BORING!!!

Hey suzi, you still have a good 5 weeks or so to get it together before school starts.
Are you doing the elliptical everyday? Start with 10 minutes and work your way up.
I personally prefer to go for a walk (even in this heat), because I can't stand being stationery.
Remember, one meal at a time!
