Yep!  Been there, done that!  I know EXACTLY what you mean.

I am so excited to tell you about what worked for me.  And there are no gimmicks, pills, powders, etc...just real food.  It's called LCHF, and it is based on low carb, moderate protein and high fat way of eating.  Best part is that no calorie counting, eat until full.  Also, it canceled my cravings and I no longer snack anymore.  I also need to remind myself to eat, as I'm not hungry anymore (I used to be ravenous all day long).

Basic meal is VEGETABLE + PROTEIN (meat, fish, eggs) + FAT.  Example is egg omelette with bacon and asparagus.  Another is broccoli sautéed in butter with steak.  Another is large salad with olive oil and roasted chicken thigh with skin on.  Google LCHF and you will see a whole bunch of doctors and nutritionists with tons of meals and recipes (simple and inexpensive).  Try it for a week and you will see the weight loss happen and food cravings reduce, as this style of eating keeps your blood sugar stable all day long and trains your body to burn fat in absence if insulin secretion.

This was the best thing that I ever did in my life.  I hope the best in your life whatever you chose to do.  Good luck and be well.

Along with your exercise bike and treadmill (iPod or MP3 player helps keep it from getting so boring), check out YouTube for a wide variety of exercises you can do all for free.  There are a lot of dance exercises, walk in place with Leslie Sansome, yoga - all you have to do is google exercise videos and you can come up with all kinds of them that you can switch up your routine with.  When you find some you like, so can bookmark them for future use, then swap them around so you have variety.

Instead of doing the treadmill or exercise bike, go outside and take a real walk with nature; there's nothing that will make you feel better than that, even when it's cold outside (dress warmly) and it's not boring.

So the same thing with your diet... seek out new recipes, using the foods you normally eat so you can come up with new foods.  Suppose ground beef is one of your staples... just google "healthy recipes with ground beef" and see what you come up with.  If you like smoothies/shakes look for a new recipe every day... I have tons of those.

Hope these ideas help get you started.
