Your milk supply may have gotten too low because you aren't eating enough calories/day.  The best things to eat are simply a well balanced diet that includes fresh vegetables, fruit, lean protein, eggs, dairy, nuts, seeds, and healthy fats.  It's not good to leave out any food groups because you don't get the nutrients you and your baby need.

After how many weeks I'll check my weight?

You can check your weight any time you want to, but not more than once/day, as it will fluctuate, depending on when/what you ate and when you go to the bathroom or exercise, etc.

It's best to check weight first thing in the morning, after you go to the bathroom and before you eat/drink anything...

sabiiii... the number of calories you need depends on your current age, height and weight.  You probably need more than that in order to be healthy and provide enough calories for, both, you and your baby.

If you tell us, your age, weight and height, along with your activity level, we can help calculate your calorie needs.

According to "my" doctor, an adult woman should not go below 1200 calories, just for herself, but you're nursing a baby, so that has to be factored in, as well.  It's also not just the calories, but the nutrients you need to pass on to your baby, that will make him healthy.

Exercise is also important for healthy weight loss.  Your baby is old enough to enjoy an outing in the stroller, so you could go for a daily walk.  Pushing a stroller for 30 minutes/day, at a brisk pace, would be excellent exercise for your whole body.

Your diet does affect your baby when you're breast feeding, but if you went on a healthy diet, your baby will be the better for it.

Hi. Congrats on the baby. Best to eat healthy when breastfeeding. Don't significantly cut calories.  But if your baby is already 9 months, it matters less now. Now your baby is eating and will get more and more nutrients and vitamins from food rather than your milk.  I am sure your baby is fine. :))
