Sunday Weigh In - June 12, 2022

Good morning.  I hope everyone's day has started out well.  It's bright and sunny here, promising to be another very hot day.  We did get a bit of rain yesterday, so that helped.

It's been a strange week, but also a good one.  Wednesday was my birthday and I was given a surprise party during a meeting on Tuesday, which was awesome.  Our calligraphy guild performed a 1/2 time segment at a music festival on Friday evening and yesterday, I went to lunch with a very good friend.  All in all, it was busy, but went well.

Tomorrow I have to go see my cardiologist... nothing special; just a follow-up, so I don't expect it to take very long.

Tuesday night is our woodworking club meeting, at which we'll hold the contest I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, which is a 2"x6"x8' project - simply taking a 2x6 board and making "something" from it.  I made a quilt rack that I'll give away.  I got it painted the other day, now I need to do some sanding and probably touch up paint on it.

Anyway, I've been busy.  As I said, last week, busy for me, doesn't always mean active because I spend so much time either planning at my computer or standing in my shop.   Because of the lack of activity I encounter, plus the fact that I don't lose weight without exercise, I've made a decision to spend, at least 30 minutes/day doing some type of physical exercise/activity.  I need to get my muscles built back up again and exercise is the only way I'll be able to do that.

All of that said, I'm still holding steady with the weight.  I'd like to be dropping, but I have to, either, exercise or starve in order to lose weight.  I'm not big on starving, so I guess it's going to be exercise.  I'm "okay" with staying the same - at least I'm not going up, but I do need to start going down.  Our anniversary cruise is only 2 months away, so obviously, I'm not going to lose as much as I'd originally wanted, but I do need to get "some" weight off.

That's my story... how has your week been?  I'm sure schools are out in most of the country and everyone is thinking about vacation time, keeping kids busy vs bored, etc.  I hope you were able to meet whatever goals you set for yourself over the past week.

~~Wishing everyone a wonderful, successful week~~

Since we have moved but not all of our furniture went with us, we're sleeping on a hideabed in a loft that's a glorified hallway. Such life is not conducive to keeping good records of my weight -- even if I had written it down I wouldn't know where I put the card it was written on. But I'm pretty sure I'm at the same (desirable) level as last week. I came out under my goal weight by a few tenths of a pound last week, and am still under my goal weight this week; maybe up .2 of a pound?  There's a lot to be said for moving and lifting a lot and not having a functional kitchen, when you're trying to get your weight down. I think the oven and fridge will finally be hooked up tomorrow, and we'll see how I do when food is available all day.

My sisters and I have seen several places for my mom and stepdad to live in their new post-stroke reality. Some were not great, some were good; I've got to tour one today though I also have to paint the wall in the kitchen in anticipation of the fridge being put in. After the final furniture move (tomorrow) from the sold house to the new half-ready house, the unpacking begins. Not looking forward to that, but living out of boxes is a messy misery. Also this week our son has finals, he pulled an all-nighter last night. It's going to be a busy week! We soldier on.

Hope your upcoming week is great!
