Sunday Weigh In, March 21, 2021

Good afternoon... well, I'm really not "with it" today since the day is almost over!!  How is everyone doing this week?  It's cold, damp and dreary here today and I haven't been able to wake up and get with the program.

Other than being cold, damp and dreary, I'm going okay.  I had thyroid blood work done on Friday and as I suspected my levels are off.  If you recall, I'd been taking extra medication and had started doing okay - was even losing weight but had to stop taking the extra in order for my blood work to show results for only the prescribed amount.  Once the extra gets out of the system, it doesn't take long for things to start going haywire.

I've gained back what I lost, in spite of the fact that we made a quick trip out to Las Vegas this past week and walked as much as 6 miles/day, etc.  I'm going to start back taking extra medication again now that I've had the blood work done.  I got the results back already and as I suspected, my levels are back to very low.  My Free T4 is actually below range and Free T3 is barely in range so it's no wonder symptoms are starting to return

I'm still walking every day with my neighbor and watching what I eat, but as I said, I've gained back the weight I lost, plus my feet are starting to swell, skin is getting itchy, joints/muscles ache.  I'm very tired and sleep doesn't make me feel rested.

Anyway, that's where I am and it's not fun right now because I have to start all over again.

So what about you?  I hope you were able to meet/exceed any goals you might have made for yourself and look forward to hearing about it.

~~Wishing everyone a wonderful, successful week~~

Hi, it's rainy here also. Will they now adjust your medications? (I would guess that unless you go on the black market for more meds, you can't keep adjusting them yourself forever, right?)

Weight-wise, I'm still where I was last week, didn't gain anything. Considering that I haven't been exercising any new amount, that's fine with me.
I had a funny dream that there was a vaccine one could take that would block one's interest in eating sweets. If there was such a shot, I'd be the first person lined up to take it. Wouldn't that be a benefit to all the obese people in the world, let alone me with my vanity pounds?

Spring Break started yesterday, and our son is asleep at 4 in the afternoon after staying up until 5 am last night gaming with people from across the globe. I dislike it when he turns his sleep schedule upside down like that, but -- first day of Spring Break, whaddaya gonna do, right? I'm simmering some stew and husband is watching basketball. A pretty easy day.

Hope everyone has a great week!

I think there were several areas that had damp, cold weather today.  It's certainly not conducive to getting a lot of activity, though I did go walking this morning.... BRRRRR   I've learned that those pesky masks we wear out shopping, etc can actually come in handy when there's a cold damp wind because they totally protect the face.   The problem was that I forgot to take one with me this morning.  I need to put one in my pocket in order to have it handy.

I'm hoping my doctor will work with me to adjust my medication(s) to something I can live with.  My pcp is back to managing my thyroid and hopefully, he's going to be easier this time.  We'll see.  In the meantime, I'm going to increase my dosage again.  You're right that I can't continue to adjust my own med forever, but I do have a good supply that will last quite a while and there are ways to get it without resorting to "black market", though I prefer not to do it that way.

Lucky you, being the same weight you were last week... I'd have been thrilled to stay the same.

Wow - what a dream.  You bet if there were a vaccine that would block interest in eating sweets (or maybe snacks in general?), there's certainly be a long line waiting for it.  Of course, sweets isn't the only thing that causes us to be overweight - the wrong kind of fats, too much salt and other things contribute.  We need that vaccine to alter the way we eat... lol

Ahh - spring break.  that's been a nightmare in my state.  I can see letting your son start out the break getting a lot of rest, but yeah - if he keeps it up, it won't be easy to get back on schedule.

Your stew sounds great for a cold damp day.  I hope your son will be able to enjoy it as well.  :-)

Enjoy the spring break - it doesn't last long enough - or, at least, it never did for me.
