Sunday Weigh in February 12, 2023

Good morning everyone.  I hope you're doing well this morning.  All is calm here and it looks like it's going to be a nice day, if a bit on the cool side (compared to our recent temps).

I had a pretty busy week, including some dental work, so am still dealing with a sore mouth.  I've also been busy with the calligraphy guild.  We did some free calligraphy classes at a new community center, which was a lot of fun.  We had 2 classes - one for kids and one for adults.  It was our first class, so was a bit more chaotic than we'd planned, but it turned out well.

Yesterday was spent in a Zoom class, learning a new "hand" (style) of calligraphy.  We had excellent instructor and the class was a good one.  I really like the style and I think it's one I'll be using more regularly.

I'm still having to wear my ankle brace, but have spent a little time without it, if I'm just home and not moving around a lot.  It will be a while before I'll be able to get out and walk without it, but I'm gradually, increasing my activity level and hopefully, by the time my neighbor returns next month from OR, I'll be able to walk pretty well, though I'm still supposed to wear the brace for another couple of months.  Although it puts my neuropathy into overdrive, sometimes, it's not as bad as the boot, so I'm hoping to stay out of that!!

So - my weight is only down by a few tenths, so, basically, I'm hanging about where I was last week.   I'm not real happy with that, but at least I didn't go up, so I'll take it!!   We're going out for lunch, today, but it's to a place that has an awesome soup and salad bar, so hopefully, I won't get too carried away!!  We'll see how that works out.  :-)

Anyway, I have a pretty clear week ahead, so hopefully, I'll get more exercise AND get more things done around the house/yard.

I hope your week went well and that you were successful with whatever projects you had going.

~~Wishing everyone a wonderful, successful week~~

I'm pretty much plateaued. My weight goes up one tenth, down two tenths, up four tenths, but there hasn't even been a pound of difference in the last couple of weeks. As you say, it's not bad since it's not gain, but if I could lose a few pounds, I'd like it too.

This Friday we moved my mom and stepdad from the assisted-living place that had been having kitchen problems, to a different place that hasn't had problems. When they originally moved in to the old place 7 months ago, my sister got a 14 x 18 piece of carpeting bound on the edges for their apartment, because the living-room floor was wood and she wanted them to have a carpet.  My last task yesterday was to go cut up that piece of carpet, roll the strips and tape the rolls, and put them all in the dumpster. My husband was a saint and came and helped. (It was so dirty, and it's only been 7 months!) I was happy to see the bags of carpeting go out the door. Took a bunch of hooks off the wall and carried a contractor's sack of stuff to the Goodwill, and their old apartment is now empty. I like their new situation, with our stepdad in a studio and Mom in a one-bedroom unit. Stepdad is stressed from moving but very happy with the meals at the new place, and was awful at living with Mom after a while because her frailty scared him. He doesn't want ANYONE to come help him unpack. We're letting him alone, and have all focused totally on Mom. Her bed looks out the window, and her apartment is nice, and she has at least one daughter dropping by all the time.

This opens me to thinking of home projects, since my bigger family isn't going to be demanding this week. I've got to sort my clothes and get rid of those I never wear -- we moved ten months ago and I haven't done it yet, and they aren't put away in a logical fashion. I also need to clear out places where boxes just got unloaded with no rhyme or reason. I think we need some pantry shelves, too -- there's always something! Snow was projected for Tuesday, but now it's off the forecast, so there isn't any excuse for not getting out and picking up the shelves and getting moving.

Hope everyone has a great week!
