Has anyone taken vitamin B6 to help their metabolism to loose weight? And if so, did it work?

So sorry that I come off as a "harpy" towards anything I deem unhealthy..... that has nothing to do with my B12 issue - it has to do with the fact that I've been down some of those roads and I know they don't work; or if they do work, it's only temporary........

Yes, I have to take B12 via injection and yes, it's due to a health issue - called pernicious anemia, which is an autoimmune disease, in which the body does not absorb B12.  I can tell you with all certainty - vitamin B12 is not a weight loss aid.......

The sad thing, here joker, is that a lot of the things many Americans take as second nature, can be just as fatal to them, as they might be to me; if only they took the time to research......

The source of my knowledge??  You already know my points on B12...... enough said there..

Vitamin B6 is necessary to breakdown proteins.  I've taken vitamin B6, and since you see that I struggle with my weight, I might say that would be a good basis for my comments; however........feel free to google it yourself......

The B vitamins in general help with nerve function and tend to help elevate energy levels; this in turn gives people more energy to get up and exercise.......which may result in weight loss, if incorporated with a sensible diet......

You have to take vitamin B12 via injection?  That has to be some medical condition you have.  No wonder sometimes you tend to come off as a harpy towards anything you deem is unhealthy.  I bet with the right unhealthy things that many americans do as second nature might be fatal to you.  Please do be careful, Miss Barb.

What is your source of your knowledge base of vitamin B?  Lucey12 and myself would benefit from it.

Vitamin B6 will not help with weight loss..... neither will B12 ....... I take them both (B12 via intramuscular injection)

I have never taken a specific b6 tablet but I might have some personal experience that might help.  As of today I have not had my final post diet health check up with my doctor to make sure I didn't do any damage to my body from losing so much weight.

When I change up my eating patterns I do keep taking a broad range multi vitamin during the times I used to eat.  It could be a placebo effect but it really seems to help out.  Since I do take vitamins regularly if I run out I do have some chewable vitamin b12 tablets to keep up my energy levels.

I avoid not those 5 hour energy things, taking that much vitamin B has to put a load on your liver and kidneys.  When my liver and kidneys are taxed to deal with all the extra vitamins my body doesn't need, they won't be helping as much as they could to metabolize my body fat.

Vitamin B6 is necessary to help break down proteins; I've taken it for that purpose, but no, don't think you'll go far with it for weight loss........
