Thnx bunches...very good advice!!!
You're looking to lose almost 30 pounds in 1.5 months and that's almost impossible to do safely. Safe weight loss is 1-2 pounds/week, so that means the most you should plan on losing is about 10-14 pounds. There's no reason why you shouldn't get started, though.
The first thing you should do is eliminate sodas or other fizzy, sugary drinks from your diet, along with sugary, processed foods. Center each meal around lots of veggies and a lean protein, with low/no fat dairy on the side. Add some healthy fat, such as avocado, olive oil, nuts, seeds, etc. Snack on a piece of fruit with a tablespoon of nut butter, a serving of yogurt, etc.
Make sure you get some exercise every day. Minimum 30 min/day is recommended, but it's best if you can do an hour/day for at least 5 days/week. Any type of exercise works, as long as it keeps you moving at a brisk pace. Pick something you enjoy and will stick with.
