Metabolic Acidosis and Citrullinemia

Recently we lost our 7 months old baby due to metabolic acidosis and one of the screening tests results received later hinted towards citrullinemia. Given thats this condition is so rare whats the probability for it to be the real cause of acidosis.

Why did the child go into acidosis and difficulty in breathing and eventually multiple organ failure. Lost hope on science and diagnosis. It happened all of a sudden and didnt manifest in the first 7 months.

It disturbs me to be not able to nail down the real cause.
