Strep throat and pink eye?

On Saturday, I started to get a sore throat.  I'm a teacher and I have had many cases of Strep since I began teaching 3 years ago.  I knew it was strep so I went to the doctor to verify.  Monday the dr told me it was the common cold but took a swap just to be sure since I was insisting.  On Tuesday, I noticed one of my eyes was pink and watery...Wednesday I woke up and both my eyes were crusty all the way across which is unusual for me.  I chase a new appointment with my dr since I was getting worse and not better.  I got a call 20min before my appt that the test came back positive for strep.  My dr was so focused on the fact that I had strep she didn't even look me over after complaining about my eye.  Now both eyes are red.  My vision is blurry and they keep watering.  Could I have both strep and pink eye?
