10 day period from ECP not sexually related

Hi,
So, I took ECP to alter the time of my period as i know that in the past I have had to take ECP and it has altered when my period came.
I know it's probably not something I should do unless I actually needed it as a form of emergency contraception but I'm going away on the day that my period usually arrives 22-25th of each month and can't think of anything worse than being on a 14 hour flight and needing to change tampons in-flight.

So I read that women who take the ECP within the first 3 weeks of their cycle generally get their period earlier as expected, so I did just that, single dose pill.
To my excitement a week later I got my period! Except it was a very light spotty brown, which generally is how my period is towards the end, I thought great! This is only going to last a few days as it's super light. I didn't even need a tampon for the first 3 days. Then following I would use one and change it maybe once or twice a day as opposed to usually maybe 3-4 times daily.
It was still really light until the 8th day, (my period usually lasts 5-6 days)
I woke this morning to find it heavier but still not heavy like usual but heavier to actually seem like a normal period.
It's going on nearly 9 days now and I don't know when it's going to stop!
Does this mean I've had some intermenstural bleeding and now that it's roughly coming on the day that is get my regular period that I am now, in fact, getting my 'normal period' ontop of the last 8 days of light bleeding?

Has anyone ever experienced this kind of thing?
