2 periods in one month and pain on left side

i got my period on time then 2 weeks later got it again only it was a darkish brown color and at the time as the second period i got a bad pain on my left side i am not sure if the 2 things are related because my period is done but the pain is still here

thanks for your input i will make a doctors appointment to see if it is ovarian cysts but i don't really think that is it because i do get a pap test every year and it has always came back regular as for an std i think that is more unlikely because i have had the same partner for 4 years i should have said that we are trying for a baby

could be your cycle resetting itself..does happen to lotsa females durin the end of a year or early the new year..happen to me ,a friend and another friend all the same week..but too could be somethin else.

Having two periods can be a cause of many things mostly STD related or ovarian cysts. The pain could also be from prolonged STD causing PID or a cyst on the ovary. I would suggest an STD screening. During the vaginal exam the doctor would be able to see if you have a cervical drip from prolonged STD cause PID and if that isn't the case and it is just cysts on the ovary's they usually just prescribe you birth control to regulate it. I have been in your same situation. Too bad for me it was PID instead of ovarian cysts, which if left untreated can cause scarring on your reproductive organs making it impossible to have children or possibly and ectopic pregnancy which can also lead to a mandatory hysterectomy and sometime even death. But hopefully in your case its just a cyst.
