6-week long vaginal bleeding

I've had a very unusual period cycle for the last few months. I went through having one on time, regularly, then not having one for five or six weeks, and now I've been on one straight for six weeks, with no break or lightening in the bleeding. Every time I wipe huge chunks of blood come away, and it's not stopping. Is it possible I have cancer? or cysts?

Its best to make an appointment with your GYN.The timing of your cycles can naturally vary but there is nothing natural about bleeding for 6 weeks straight.. It could possibly be fibroids and/or cysts which causes that kind of bleeding & large clots.. Ive had two surgeries for dysfuntional bleeding and they were the culprits. Unfortunately, it could be a myriad of other things..Most times Cancer comes with other symptoms.. Get to the GYN as soon as possible before the blood loss takes its toll.. Good luck!

Maybe your body is just changing. I know every once in a while my cycle will go from normal to not getting it at all one month.. it can also do with stress or if you have been sick lately. I have cysts on my ovaries but it never caused me to bleed for a long time.  I dont think this can be because of that. If the bleeding doesnt stop and you are still concerned make and appointment with your doc. Good luck to you!
