6 wks post-partum, been bleeding for 3 days and I feel sick. Should I go to the hospital?

I had a baby 6 weeks ago. Since, I’ve been breast feeding and pumping consistently. I had completely stopped bleeding over a week ago (maybe two)from delivery. I had sex 3 days ago and have been bleeding even since quite a bit and now i feel faint and have the worse migraine that will not go away... should I go to the hospital?

Hi!  How did your night go? Call your doctor today, okay?

Thank you for asking. I started to feel better yesterday evening. I made a juice during the day packed with greens and everything so that might of helped too. Made sure it was iron rich since I don’t eat meat. Anyways I started to feel better and the bleeding has slowed dramatically. So I’m pretty sure I’m okay. I’ll update if anything changes. Thanks so much for asking though I appreciate that.
Okay. I'm glad it is getting better. You can always just do a check in phone call with your doctor.  I know I had a post partum check at 6 weeks with both of my babies.  Have you had that yet?  If not, maybe it would be a good idea to set one up.  It's usually part of the 'program' t most OB's offices and covered.

Hello and welcome to the forum.  Please call your doctor at once and report your bleeding. You may not be but want to rule out a post partum hemorrhage.  These normally occur within 24 hours after birth but can happen up to 12 weeks after.  If you can not reach your doctor, then yes, I would make the trip to the ER.  Your blood pressure could be dropping dramatically from blood loss.  https://www.webmd.com/women/vaginal-bleeding-after-birth-when-to-call-doctor#1  Please let us know how it goes but yes, you need to seek medical attention now.

I just checked my blood pressure 133/83. My doctor is out today so my only option is ER, but since my BP is fine I think I’ll be okay until tomorrow
That's your call to make, of course.  Doctors are the less expensive option and often preferable to the ER so certainly understand.  If anything changes and the bleeding gets worse, please don't wait.  Let us know how it goes tomorrow.
There is not an urgent-care walk-in clinic in your area? We have those, they are about halfway between a regular doctor appointment and an ER. It might not be a bad idea to at least be seen.
