86 days...still haven't started my period

I am 24, my last period was january 17, 2010 and I missed my period February, March and still haven't started and we're half way through April. I have been off ogestrel (birth control) for 3 and a half months, my boyfriend has been using protection. I went to the doctors and they did a lipid panel, checked cholesterol, thyroid, liver, kidney, CBC, FSH 3.3 and LH 9.4, pregnancy test turned out negative - any idea what could be wrong with me and why i haven't started my period? I worry that there's a chance i may not be ovulating, My boyfriend and I want to have a baby in a couple of years and I worry that I may have complications conceiving in the future?

thank you nickieb85, I appreciate your comment. It gives me hope for the future, my boy friend is 27 he says he wants to think about having a baby before he hits 30. Him and I will perhaps try to have one in a couple of years. The doctors prescribed me provera before, and it made me start my period like i was supposed to after 10 days of taking the pill, but i ended up having 2 periods twice a month for 6 months...don't know if that is normal or not. I orginally quit taking my BC pill in January because i got sick and was prescribed antibiotics, as if being sick wasn't enough i got a UTI and was prescribed another antibiotic for that. Then sometime after I went to the dentist to get all my wisdom teeth pulled out and they gave me some antibiotics to fight infection and pain pills, over the course of a few months i'd taken 3 different types of antibiotics i figured why stay on the pill? Recently about 2 weeks ago i got back on Ogestrel BC pill. thank you again nickieb85.

It is definitely possible that you are not ovulating on your own. I had regular periods until about 2.5 years ago and then they stopped out of nowhere when I got off the nuva ring. The only thing about it was I moved 2000 miles, gained some weight and got remarried. I was diagnosed with PCOS in February and only had one regular period in the last year. It could also be your body is trying to readjust to your body being off of the birth control and trying to get back into the natural swing of things =) Doctors won't usually refer you to a fertility doctor until you have been trying to conceive for at least 12 months. They may make an exception for you if you have a history of not having a regular period for about 6 months (that is what happened with me) and then they will do a hormone panel and then do an ovulation test (blood test on first day of your period and then 21 days later to see if you actually ovulated or not) and then will recommend clomid or some type of help to help you ovulate on your own. Also if you are worried about not having a period your doctor can always but you on Provera that will start your period and your ovulation may return to normal after because Provera can help jump start your cycle on the right track. I hope this helps =)
