Am I Pregnant or Is My Period Coming?

I think i have been spotting. At first, i thought it was that i had just started with my period again, but i was wrong because it looked more like a pinkish color that would only stain a little bit. This got me worried because the previous month, on October 26th, I was having sexual intercourse with my boyfriend and the condom broke. I haven't gotten my period since. On October 31st, Halloween, I took a pregnancy test and it came out negative. I am thinking about taking a pregnancy test again to make sure, because i am not sure if the spotting just means my period is finally coming, or if it means that I am pregnant. I have heard of the Implantation Bleeding, but this is my second day of spotting. I heard that the implantation bleeding only lasts for about a day or two, or maybe even less. So this makes me doubt a little because I think it's going to be continuing tomorrow. I just need to know whether or not there is a possibility that i may be pregnant or if the chances are gone and i am safe from that issue. I am really worried and i need some reassurance. So what do you think?

Hi, i have a really big problem. i had sex on oct 23, i was really drunk and so was the guy. We can't remember if he was still in me when he finished. I also dont keep track of my period so i dont know when it's supposed to come. I was wondering how long do u have to wait to take a home pregnacy test.?

So here goes my problems. I was currently on the pill for the last 8 years on and off. I have 2 children I am 33 and I have stopped taking the pills for about 6 months. My periods have been next to nothing. I know I'm not pregnant and I do put a lot of stress on myself. I havent had a real period since October 31 weekend. Prior to that, I would get spotting for one day and then get my period a week a later. This time I got spotting one day and nothing for a week, had sex with my boyfriend started bleeding that one night and then it was gone the next day. Am I going thru menopause as I really hope not cause we want more kids. Tell me something, please

I am 12 days late, have had for the past 4-5 days, nausea, early in am and sometimes mid day.  Extreme fatigue.  I have had 4 neg HPT's.  I just don't understand.  I would not think it would be too early, but i am sooooo nauseated. It just doesn't make any sense to me. I also, am getting up every night, x past 5-6 nights needing some crackers, tea, and the urge to pee.  Could it possibly still not be able to detect HCG, or is it something else?

i was on the depo shot from jan 07 and was due for my last shot dec 4 2007 but did not get it. while on the shot i bleed about half way to the shot ending anyway i had unprotected sex the morning before the shot was due. i wondering if i could be pregnant because i did not get the shot and i was wondering if the sperm could live long enough for the shot to wear off, i have been spotting off and on since dec 4 and now its just light brown discharge and i have these nausea feelings in the morning.

hi i have a question. i had unprotected sex on 14th of october but my fertility period starts from 18th of otc.... my period was due on 5th but there was some spotting on 7th(yesterday) and even today 8th its only brownish spotting.... i haven't done the pregnancy test yet, but i am really very scared i dunno if there is sth wrong.....last month in the month of september whenever i had sex my lower abdomen used to hurt(achy) so i am really worried what is happenning.... so if u can then please help me.........

hi. i have a few questions. i wanted to find out if i was pregnent or not because i had sexual activity (with no condom) in mid August and got my period a couple days later on the 16th. Then after i had many sexual activitys with my boyfriend again with no condom and my period is late. So i took two pregency test one about a week ago and another a couple days ago and they both said negative. Is it still possible that i could be pregnent even if i had my period on the 16th with sexual activity after that?  I've been breaking out a little so I'm thinking its my period but no period and its about one or two weeks late!! Then it feels like im on my period but I'm not. Do you think i could still be pregnent?

I know exactly what you are going through..my fiance and I are trying to have a baby and he has ejaculated in me 5 times so far since we have been trying..i was spotting before time for my period, which I have NEVER done, I am tired, moody, hungry, urinating frequently, and all that stuff...the only symptom i don't have is morning sickness..however, I've taken two pregnancy tests and both were negative..but i took them before i expected my period..then last night, i started bleeding a little heavier..I'm not sure if it's my period or if it's implantation bleeding..I'm thinking the best thing to do is go to the doctor, but i have no insurance, so i have to wait and work that out..I'm on alot of medications for asthma, anxiety, acid reflux, etc and i'm worried because i don't even know if i can safely take my meds so i haven't been taking them..I'm hoping that I'm pregnant, but I'm terrified that I'm not..I want a baby so badly, and so does my fiance..I'm so confused...and my fiance has been saying the whole time that he knows that I'm pregnant, but I'm just not sure..I'll try to update this after I go to the Dr...this article has made me feel better and has helped me greatly in some small but important decisions....thank you!! and best of luck!!

i finally got my period! i'm still going to take the test tho, i just really don't know when. i just really need to see it come out negative before i get too happy and finally relieved. It is a pain every single month wondering whether i'm pregnant or not, but this was the only time i got really scared by it because of the whole condom issue. A lot of my friends are saying that i'm not pregnant because they just really don't think so, and i doubt it too. But, i don't want to take any risks, so i'm going to take the test. After i see what it says, i'm not going to honestly try not to have sex again until i'm married. It's too much stress for me.

Not to scare you, but I got pregnant with this baby now after only bding once.  I had a m/c and had one af.  I was going to wait another cycle before trying again, but figured it was so late in the cycle it was not too probable.  Of course I knew it was a possibility and was thrilled when it came back positive, a little shocked, but so happy.  There's always a chance, but it does take awhile to get the hormones out of your system, mine were gone in just under 4 weeks and I was 11 weeks along, but everyone is different.  I agree with the others, take a test, and call your Dr. if it is positive to go in and see if it's new or from the old pregnancy.  I would also get on the pill or something else ASAP, it's got to be a little nerve wracking to have 2 scares back to back.  Take care.

I know that condoms aren't 100% effective, but no, i doubt what happened on the 16th has anything to do with it. We were extra careful, trust me. Everytime he was about to, you know, eject his stuff, he would take it out so that nothing could get in me. and i am positive that nothing did. I don't know, but i highly doubt that what happened on 16th is the reason i am spotting or anything like that. It seems very unlikely.

I agree with Mom2grls0204...it can be a number of things...sometimes if you have a infection this could happen..or if its implant bleeding try testing over in a few days! But only a dr. can tell you whats going on for sure..and a blood test is more accurate!! just retest..and if you dont get your cycle in a few days...go see a dr. are you on b.c??

Even if you were careful and used a condom, remember that condoms are not 100% effective. Therefore, even if used properly and the condom does not look like it broke, it is still possible to conceive. I can't tell you how many women conceive each year because they only use condoms as their form of birth control. Although it is important to use condoms or the like, you should consider a second method of contraception as well to reduce the chance of conception.

Let me get this straight ... your encounter where the condom broke occurred on 10/26. On 11/16, you had sex again with a condom, and on 11/23, you had potential implantation bleeding? If you haven't tested in almost four weeks, I would definitely recommend testing again. I wish you the best. Please keep us updated on how things go. It is possible this is implantation bleeding from the 11/16 intercourse, or it could just be spotting if you are indeed pregnant. I would definitely recommend taking a pregnancy test within the next couple of days because you will need to make a lot of adjustments to your life if you are pregnant (i.e. get on prenatal vitamins ASAP, adjust your daily diet, meet with a dr, etc.).

Thank u for your responses! and yes, I was sexually active, but it was only once and but we were really careful this time, the condom didn't break, and we made sure nothing went in so no, it couldn't have been from a new experience. That happened on the 16th, and then on Thanksgiving, the 23rd, this happened. What i'm basically thinking about doing right now is retaking the test and if it comes out negative, i'll wait until my period comes. If it doesn't come within two weeks, i'll consider going to a doctor. I'm just worried because i haven't gotten it yet and it's about to be 2 months because the last time i got it was the first week of October. So i was thinking that i might be pregnant, but i'm not too sure about that anymore. So it could be an infection or something, like how you people have mentioned. I think that maybe it's just that i'm delayed this month or something. I'm waiting until the end of this month to get it or the beginning of December because maybe i might get it around then, but i'm still not so sure.

Implantation bleeding occurs within two weeks of ovulation, so you wouldn't get implantation bleeding a month after conceiving. Have you been sexually active again since without protection or with another broken condom? It could be implantation bleeding from a newer experience (i.e. if you ovulated late).
