My granddaughter has only one kidney which is located in the front.  She has now been diagosed as having a split uterus.  What exactly does this mean?  Is there a possible that other organs are misplaced?  She is presently in hospital with "flat bowel" after having had diaherra and vomitting for five weeks.  As we speak, she has not had any elimation in over a week.  Does the unusual position of her organs have any bearing on the function of her bowels?

In fact, if you don't have a very big septum, you are a candidate for pregnancy, not even high risk.  A doctor should know you have a heart-shaped uterus, but it is not of major concern unless it is strongly divided.  I have a small septum, and the pregnancy just pushed it aside and the baby grew in both sides of the uterus.

the septum that divides my uterus is not that big,so that means i am a candidate for high risk pregnancy!

How big is the septum that divides the uterus?  You could get pregnant in either half of the uterus, but if the embryo implants on the septum itself, there is some chance of a miscarriage due to inadequate blood flow to the placenta.  You need to talk to a high-risk doc about this, try to find one who is not frightened by the topic of bicornuate uteruses.  Some act like it's just one of those things, and others act totally freaked out by them.
