What should I do about a water sports trip?

I am 15 years old and have only had my period for a year. In 4 weeks I am going on a trip with School which is water based. My period is now 4 days late and if it doesn't come today I will have it on the trip. I really now need to prolong it a few weeks from now so it starts after the trip. As I'm new to this whole business, I haven't grasped using tampons yet which is why I am panicking. Is there anything I can do to delay my period naturally or what should I do on the water based trip if I am on my period. Thank you

Unfortunately, this is just one of those things women have to deal with.  You can't delay your period on purpose.  However, it could be late again next month on its own if your cycle is changing a bit (common for young women your age) or the change of routine in the trip and stress of going can cause you to be late.  I use tampons in the pool, no problems.  So, think about that to take along for ease of water sports and period.  good luck
