Anyone else use Seasonique (Birth Control)?

I just started using Seasonique (used to be called Seasonal) Dec 19,2006 and I'm hoping there will be some ladies on here that can provide me with some feed back. I was hoping I would be able to read the insert that was supposed to come with the filled prescription, but the pharmacy didn't include it in the bag. Anywho, can anyone tell me if they had swollen, sore breast and sore nipples when they first started taking this type of bc? My stomach is also a little tender to the touch. I'm just wanting to see if anyone else experienced these side effects when first starting this type of bc. I used to use the Nuva Ring prior to the switch. Also, for those of you who have been using this type of bc for awhile, how do you like it? I'm still trying to get used to taking a pill daily, I've only had to double up twice so far. Thanks in advance for your feed back.

I am an 18 yr old college freshman who has been taking seasonique for about 2 years now (not exactly sure) and I am definitely surprised to see all of these comments about extremely bad experiences! First of all, I would like to point out that people who decide to search the internet for people's input on birth control are most likely experiencing bad side affects which is why the majority of the posts are negative. I just want to say to all the women who are thinking of trying it that its great! SEASONIQUE SAVED ME! I have had severe cramps, nausea, diarrhea, you name it during every period since 5th grade. Sophmore year of high school my mother and I finally decided that birth control would be the most sensible option. I tried every pill that doctors would prescribe and none of them helped my cramping. Finally they decided the only thing to do was to make me have less periods! IT was brilliant. I have much less cramping now when I do have my periods and they are much lighter.
Also to those of you freaking out about side affects during your first months on the pill- dont psych yourself out! My body definitely had trouble adjusting to the pill (random cramps, long periods, etc.) but like any birth control, you need to give it time (about a year my doc said).
I would not recommend this pill as the first type of birth control people try out because there is a high hormone content in them so adverse reactions to birth control can be amplified. I am sorry to all you ladies who had a hard time with the pill, but I think you are the cases who had rare side affects.

Hope this helps! Good luck girls!

I have been on Seasonique for 3 weeks today. I woke up yesterday with this rashy pimplly looking patch on the top of my forehead right by my hairline. It itches and I feel itchy all over... I have never had a problem with acne. The Dr put me on this because my periods are very painful and I have heavy bleeding. I have never been regular either. I know that after reading all of the above comments I am going off of the pill. Does anyone think my acne will get worse or do you think it will clear up? I am in tears because I really believe this was going to be the right answer for me ! I have 4 children with my husband and he has had a vasectomy so I am not taking BC to prevent pregnancy. I am just taking it to stop the painful periods. She had recommended depo and I know it stays in your system for 3 months and I didnt want to have to deal with symptoms that long if I were to have them. Can anyone give me some advice on what to do? The Dr thinks I could have fybroid cysts and she said this would help shrink them. Thank you

i am so glad i found this too!! I told my boyfriend of 6years today that I am getting off Seasonique after my next cycle. Last year I lost 26 pounds, and since I started this Pill, I have gained 10 since June. My eating habits are not bad at all, I drink a lot of fluids, and i exercise 3-4 times a week. I feel so bloated and obese ALL THE TIME. I even went on the diet that made me loose weight last year, and I only lost 2 pounds in like 2 weeks!!! I do not want to not take birth control pills, but i want to see how my body reacts to not being on them for once...especially since i have been switching pills for about 5 years before taking Seasonique.

I have also started getting headaches in which I never have. I switched because the nuva rig\ng gave me an infection and the Implanon, NEVER GET IT!! I gained 22 pounds in a month and a half and didnt eat for two weeks and was still gaining weight like crazy! I officially give up on birth control.
