Anyone experience brown discharge that lasts for a long time after period?

I started a new birth control, Taytula, after going off birth control for about a month or two months I have been only on this new pack for about a month, finishing my last dose tomorrow. I wanted to not have my period this week so I skipped around and started the iron pills last Wednesday instead of this week Wednesday and now I am taking the sugar pills again. I got my period as soon as I started taking the iron pills last Wednesday I had a normal period for a few days maybe till Sunday. In this birth control there is only 4 iron pills to take and then its back to the sugar pills. But instead of my period finishing I keep having persistant light brown discharge, but I still have it to this day. This discharge is giving me a burning sensation making it very irritating down there though so could it be an STD and not just brownish discharge following my period and cause of the new birth control adjustment? I went to the doctor today so I will not know my results till middle of next week just wanted some insight if anyone has ever experienced this? The doctor also said he noticed this discharge but it could be from my period but I never had it where it lasted more than 3-4 days of brownish discharge. I was recently just treated for a yeast infection so I was thinking maybe the irritation is still from that? Please if anyone has any information it would be greatly appreciated.
