Are different colored nipples normal?

Hi, is it normal for one areola on the breasts to be light and the other to be darker by almost 3 shades?  Also what causes that to be different?

Genetic factors can cause this.  The only reason to be concerned would be if this was a sudden change rather than how it's been.
