Bartholins Gland Abscess

I have had 2 operations in the past two years to lance an abcess on my Bartholins gland, and it has now reoccured again.  This time, however, there seems to be not only one lump on the left hand side, but large lumps on both the left side, the right side and at the back aswell.  Why does this issue reoccur and why have the amount of lumps increased?  How can i avoid them returning after another operation to lance the abscess?
