Most definitely, you have a good point, they do blame much on "stress." I agree, I do need to pursue this further. Thanks for the info and advice! :)
Even though commercials talk about cortisol and stress, in reality, this would be a disease process - ie pituitary tumor or other.
Doctors like to say everything is stress when they do not know, but trust me, this one is not stress except for the stress the disease is putting on your body.
I would get the copies of your blood work and still go see the specialist - there are a lot of things that can cause it and you need to get to the bottom of it.
No, I haven't seen any other specialists, other than my OB/GYN, who ran the Thyroid and prolactin levels blood work. You did touch on something though, in your comment, about cortisol. My Dr. did mention it could be stress related. I've been stressed out forever, it seems. However, I've had some major stress events happen within the past 2 1/2 years, so perhaps it's that? I'm getting all my blood work retested in 6 months. If it all comes back normal again, but I'm still having the leaking, sounds like I should suggest a visit to the specialist(s) you mentioned!
I had a prolactinoma, was fully lactating out of both breasts and my prolactin levels were barely abnormal and sometimes normal - so testing does not always reflect was is really going on.
Also. other hormones can mess with prolactin - thyroid and cortisol are notable. Medications can do so as well but I am sure that was ruled out. Have you seen an endocrinologist or neuro-endocrinoligst?
