Brown discharge?

I'm almost 16 years old, and I've had my period since I was 11. The past four or five days there has been this brown discharge on my panties. It doesn't smell bad, and it doesn't hurt, but today, I noticed it hurt a little to go to the bathroom, and when I wiped there was just a tiny bit of blood along with brown discharge. I've never had sex, but I've done other stuff. My next period isn't supposed to start for another week and a half. I'm really scared that I have an infection or some other disease. Should I talk to my mom since the discharge isn't going away? Before I got my first period, I talked to her a little bit through letters, but that's the last time we've talked about this stuff seriously. How do I talk to her if you think I should?

I would definitely speak to your mom. Anything unusual needs to be talked about. You haven't done anything wrong. Your mom could make a doctor's appointment for you. It's probably nothing to worry about, but it's better that
you talk this over with your doctor. With things like this the sooner you get to discuss this with a doctor and find out what's going on, the better you
will feel. It will be fine. I think you should definitely talk to you mom and not through a letter. You mom will understand and I'm sure you'll feel better
after you talk to your mom. Sometimes you might think that a certain subject is embarrassing but keep in mind your mom was once a young woman like you and may have even gone through the same type of thing herself. I used to get the impression my mom was a little uncomfortable
talking about these types of issues. It turns out it was me who used to feel undcomfortable talking about these kinds of things. Everythiing will be okay.

Hi there and welcome.  Often, brown discharge is actually old blood.  Since it is something you haven't experienced, I would absolutely tell your mother.  You've done nothing wrong and are having break through bleeding for some reason.  If it doesn't clear up, yes.  tell her.  She'll want to know about these things.  good luck
