Can anyone tell me how to handle menstrual postpartum?

Hi, I had a baby almost 5 months ago I bled for 4.5 months every week I would have a day maybe two where I only spotted, but now I have been non bleeding for about a week maybe week and a half and last night I started bleeding again, which is most likely my normal cycle beginning but was it normal to bleed for almost 5 months straight after giving birth to my second child?? My first born I only bled post partum for about 2 weeks. Anyway my bleeding now started out as a spotting but is now super heavy but only Poor's blood when I pee. my pads not soaked....also this last timed I went to the bathroom and bled there was a stream of like mucous hanging and wouldn't fall.....I took a test says I'm not and then the same night which was last night I started bleeding again....any ideas on what to do??
