Can i still be pregnant even though test negative

I am 8 days late for my period so decided to take a home pregnancy test today which turned out negative.  Is there still a chance i could be pregnant.  How accurate are these test? Has anyone else been in a similar situation and found that they were in fact pregnant even though test negative?

Crazy! I am kinda in the same boat. I'm actually quiet lost ha ha. I haven't had a menstrul since September but it's a lil normal for me cause I don't ovulate like I need to. November rolls around and I been throwing up without being sick having mood swings but that's pretty much most of it. I have taken several home tests and come back negative. Could I still be pregnant? Or is just in my head?

My last period was on the 5th of September and I did not take a pregnacy test until the 13th of october, and then another on the 15th, and then I went to the doctor 17th, and all tested said it was negative. my doctor told me to come back on the 5th of Nov. I did and the test said positive, I am confused on if I really am pregnant, and when was my conception date, because for the past 5wks the tests stated i was not pregnant
