Can you get a negative pregnancy blood test?

Hi,

i have missed my period for 8 days now and i am normally very regular. I have sore breasts, nausea, fatigue, white/watery discharge and some cramping. i have taken numerous HPT and they have been negative, doctors blood test also came back negative. i have never had any of these symptoms before my period and i had my other children so long ago so i cant remember what it is like to feel pregnant. Has any one else had these symptoms and ended up being pregnant or other health issues arise.

TIA

If you had the blood test too early, say, within 7 days of ovulation, it might be possible to get a negative blood test when pregnant.  But once the embryo implants and begins to produce hCG, a blood test should find it.  If you had the test after you missed your period it should be accurate.

Thanks AnnieBrooke still no signs of my period and now up to 10 days might have to get more blood work done i think to check for other hormone problems, i'm just a bit confused of some of the pregnant symptoms including the fact i now have colostrum production.
Well, whatever is going on, producing breast milk is not an early-pregnancy symptom, though the other symptoms you mention certainly can come from increased prolactin levels that also produce breast milk.  Women often go through their whole pregnancy and their milk doesn't come in until the baby is born.

Increased prolactin levels (that cause production of breast milk and other symptoms) can come from a variety of things:  underlying medical issues like thyroid issues, chronic stress, kidney, liver or hypothalamus problems, or injury to the breast tissue or over-stimulation of the breasts.  Other causes can be medications like antidepressants, birth-control pills, blood-pressure meds, some painkillers, or heartburn meds, and even regular use of recreational drugs.

In your shoes, I'd get some bloodwork to confirm that your prolactin levels are up, and then go from there.
cool,  thanks for the advice
