Cervix is bleeding

I have had what looks like blood coming out of me for the past 15 days or so.  I'm nowhere near my period yet.  so I went to see the gyno, to get my pap among other things, and asked her what it was.  she told me my cervix is bleeding -- i noticed when she swabbed me it was very red!  I asked her should I be concerned about this and she said no!  i do have a yeast infection and i have occasionally been told that could cause some bleeding but it seems like alot for that.  on top of this i got a colcoscopy done during the same visit and now it seems that i am bleeding a little more.  i have had colcoscopy done before but it was over a year ago.  i have never had a baby.  can anyone think of what would explain the bleeding, or why my doctor would seem so unconcerned?  i haven't had any "rough" activity down there lately either if you know what i'm saying.

thanks, i'm waiting for the pap results.  i get tested pretty frequently for cervical cancer (i have HPV) so i think i'm pretty current on that.  i'm just curious/worried about what conditions could be causing the blood, what are the implications, etc.  all i've ever been told is that it's really bad news to be bleeding between periods.

Have your pap results come back yet? If it's abnormal make sure they check for cervical cancer.
