Concerned

Hello, I'm a male but I wanted to know if when a women gets a pap smear done, could the doctor tell if she has trichomonasis. Would that be a seperte test done along with a pap smear. Would a women know if she had trichomonasis from a pap smear.

Oh geez.  I missed that you are a male.  this is the woman's health forum so assumed that it was a woman posting.  

You have 'women' that you need you to ask these questions?  Hopefully a sexually active women takes care of her own health.  good luck

Hi MrOmg, When you get all this done with your women, don't forget to get tested yourself, your find this STD goes both ways, if you don't the you could re-infect your women again.

I don't understand your question.  There are different reasons why a woman has discharge and that needs to be diagnosed properly in order to know which medication should be used.  good luck

what medication is given to a women when she has excess discarge, or what is said to be very wet?

Let me amend that.  You can get an abnormal pap smear when you have trich which would lead to further diagnosing.  But I would tell a doctor to look for that when doing your pap smear so that they will make sure to look for it.  good luck

Hi there.   This is checked with a separate test.  A swab is taken which is different than a pap smear.  You can ask to be checked for it and they'll do it.
