DEPO and Periods

I had really heavy menstrual period and cramps so I was recommended by my doctor to get the depo shot to seize the pain and heavy periods. I took my shot October 19,2015 and was supposed to go back January 22nd to take another one but I never went again since I gained a lot of weight and I want to get pregnant. I got first period last week 08/23/2016 for one day and then again 8/25/2016 it ended after that on 08/27/2016 and it started again 8/29/2016 and its very heavy again this is not normal for me even before the shot it this normal after 7 months.?

Hi,
You should probably call your doctor's office, explain what is going on, and ask them to advise you on what to expect for the next few months. From my experience, Depo can do weird things to your periods once you stop the routine injections. I also learned that when it comes to stopping Depo, the results can be different for each woman. Some women get their periods back soon after stopping the injections, and some don't have their periods until months later. My first experience after quitting Depo, was a light period after 4 months of waiting for it to appear again...
Good Luck
