Burnt meat leads to colon cancer though! Haha...just kidding! Well, that's what they say, but I was just being a smarty pants (: Yes, there is always SOMETHING about EVERYTHING that we shouldn't do and it is tiring trying to keep up with it all! I will try not to worry about the roast beef I scarfed down the other day. It was good! It's just that after having a miscarriage it's hard not to worry about every little thing.
Everyday they come out with things we should or shoudn't eat. I can't keep up with all of it. Eat egg's or don't? I dunno. I'm not pg, but when I was I ate everything I got my hands on. Both kids are healthy and I am too. Personally, I don't like the meat in the containers ( it smells bad). i buy the kind from the deli. Sometimes I will get a hankerin for a fried bologna sandwish though. I fry it till it's burnt.
wrong page...try these one!

I had copied the first one jenshim posted to visited and that what copied instead of the page I wanted..! oops! =)
ok so I just looked at some stuff...what is done it's done! just like you this week I've eaten deli stuff...turkey sandwich about three of them! ..think of it in the rock age many people ate things like that, my mom ate all these things while pg with me and my brother..etc I don't think there should be any worries if it was from a good place..it didn't look like a dirty place or so...Im just trying to relax myself about the issue...but those are my thoughts! as for that turkey in the fridge nobody will eat it now =/
we must have wrote our posts at the same time! =) I agree, there's many women that don't even know about this and will eat many things that we are not supposed to..I did! I thought it was only hot dogs and such I couldn't eat...that turkey looked pretty clean and was a good clean place where it was bought...so no worries..just won't eat any of it anymore! =)
But did you see not even Subway? I LOVE my Subway clubs! Taking deli meat out of my diet will be hard, but I want to be safe. I just never knew this until yesterday! I guess we are all more informed now!
I know..I love subway too!! I bought that turkey from Publix...looked clean but I won't eat anymore now just to be safe...everytime I had this sandwich I thought about it...but always said no way! why would it be bad to eat turkey?? should be healthy!...many women do these without knowing and everything turns out just fine! so no worries just relax and let's be more careful from now on =) how far along are you?
Goodness Sakes!!!
I didn't know either and we have been living off of meat trays and cheese trays for over a week. (Dh's mom passed) There is so much they say not to do now, I am lost! It has been 10 years since my last pregnancy, and I don't remember all of these rules. I just read not to eat fish...well, too late. No fish, no lunch meat, no soft cheese...I know there are more...no hot baths, what else ladies?
I have broken every rule there is:/
I am only 4 wks. I just found out on Friday. It is still early. I had a miscarriage last month though, so I am trying to be really careful. My numbers look good this time though compared to last time! How far along are you?
baby4me? you're not alone so have I! I ate fish...cheese and now that stinking trukey this week! I read after eating the fish that it depends which one you eat..some are allowed twice or so a week and it's because of the mercury found in them or so..I gotta find that page with the listings I will and then posted here just for info! =)
oh yes! I remeber jenshim when you found out and all! it's such a blessing Im happy for you! and wish everything goes good with this pregnancy! Im 7w 2d ! weee time went fast since I found out and now I can feel hardness in my lower tummy! =D it's so exciting..not much but it's there!
Yes, very exciting!! Can't wait to get further along so I can stop worrying (: (:
you will get there! =) these few weeks have gone fast for me..here I was when I found out at 4w 4d and now 7w! so fast...Im still worried just like you but all you can do is relax! good for you and your little baby! =)

http://www.americanpregnancy.org/pregnancycomplications/listeria.html
Congrats to both of you!!! I am 15 weeks today, and am still suffering the m/s! I just started having a "real" tummy.:)
It's all in the way the food is handled/stored. According to your article it's all too common for pregnant women to get Listeria from eating unpasturized foods, and lunch meats. I wasn't aware of this with my first pregnancy and I ate hotdogs, turkey, salami, and ham sandwiches all the time. Luckily I never got sick. I would say just to be safe, not to eat anymore foods like that.
oh wow! 15 weeks..I can't wait until I get that far! I want a belly too =P I have nothing at all right now lol just my own fat! still you can't help but look in the mirror sideways even though you know nothing will show just yet ha..how sad =/ when I was 5 weeks or so I would check how hard my tummy was and so and nothing but flab..now 7 weeks I can feel it getting hard and it is very exciting! I haven't had a u/s or anything done so all I have is that to rely on! =)
I know, I checked my belly hardness too.lol. It does happen pretty quick doesn't it? It is good to know there is something in there! When is your u/s? I had on last Monday because they couldn't find the baby's h/b...just a quick one, and there he/she was looking like a little fully formed baby...at 13 and a half weeks! Amazing!
oh my I imagined how nervous you must have been! but Thank God there was your baby good and healthy! I bet is such a relieve!!!! =)
my first u/s will be january 4th!!!! I will be 10 weeks there and Im praying everything will be ok! Im so excited and want to have it all done now! time is goping slow when it comes to that but I will get there! I can't wait...!
my partner is very excited and even though he shows love towards my belly I know it will give him the greeen light when he sees the baby on the u/s to say ok yes there is a baby there!!!! lol
I'm 17wk 3d, I can finally lay down and feel firmness. I mean it was growing out a bit but still soft, and now it's finally stiffening up some. I think that we are all alittle too hard on ourselves and alittle to restrictive. I think almost anything is safe in moderation. Our parents did it, our grandparents did it, and so on and so on. We are an age of overanalyzing. We just need to relax. Good luck everyone.
I hope time flies by for you until your u/s! I have another scheduled for Jan. 17th, and they should be able to tell me boy or girl then. I think I saw a "hoo ha" at the last u/s, the tech said it was too early and anything would be a guess, but I am putting my money on girl.
I am sure your dh's eyes will light up when he sees the baby in there!!! I had my first u/s very early at 5 weeks and my dh's eyes lit up and all he saw (his words:)"a circle and a dot" lol (gestation sac and yolk sac) LOL!!!
Well, off to watch my story (General Hospital) LOL!!! Talk to you soon!
you are right I couldn't agree more...it's good to be careful and all.
I remember telling my mom about all these not eating hot dogs and so, she told me she was eating hot dogs and all these things while pg! and everything turned out fine. it's good to be careful now that we know but let's not kill ourselves over what we already ate! lol too late for that =/
good luck with you app!!!!! I hope time flies for me too! lol I can't wait to see the look on his face! and mine! lol priceless!
Processed meat isn't good for ANYONE. Do I eat it? I try not to, but sometimes I do. Why is it bad, you ask? Processed meat is chock full of nitrites, which research has linked to all kinds of havoc, including cancer- especially pancreatic cancer. It can also be a cause of headaches in some people. Am I trying to say you will die a painful death if you eat this stuff? Of course not. But, think about it, if it's unsafe for an unborn child, wouldn't it make sense that it's not too great for adults either? I'm not trying to alarm anyone if they already have eaten processed meat; just trying to make people aware of what's out there. You can do what you wish with the information.
Im sure if it's bad for the unborn child..it's bad for adults too.
what's done it's done for me =/ already digested! so after this no more deli meat hot dogs etc etc for me. no more turkey sandwich!! =)
