Dental Hygiene and Yeast

I currently have a new sexual partner (my second one) and he really enjoys performing oral sex. While with him, I've gotten 3 yeast infections. They are never terrible, but they were bad enough for me to get prescribed Diflucan. I had a pill left over and took that yesterday with the onset of this new infection. I am on birth control, but have been since I started dating him. While we took a break (about 2 months), I was infection free! The problem must lie with him- either the oral sex itself, or his dental hygiene.

Can not-so-great dental hygiene from my partner lead to yeast infections? I've been trying to take probiotic acidophilus capsules. What else can I do to prevent these terrible infections!

It could be his shaving cream, it could be a mouthwash he uses if he uses it right before hand.   it could he aftershave he wears.   I personally have never experienced yeast infections from my ex bf who smoked like a chimmeny. And i get them 1 time a month.. very prone to them from the slightest any irritation.  Maybe he gets in there real well and possibly some outside elements like dirt particles, or his own sweat could get in there and cause irritation that ends up in full blown yeast infection.   You could always talk to him and see what it is he uses on his face, if anything, and just take a look at any elements that he is around the day that he does give you oral.    Hopefully you don't let him go down on you during an active yeast infection as this very easily spreads into the mouth and you wouldn't want him and you passing it back and forth. But usually this is very noticable (thrush) with the sensations it brings if that is it doesn't leave white patches in his mouth (cheeks and throat) which a lot of times it doesn't.  Just some of my own thoughts.

He does smoke, yes. I hadn't connected the two. I told him he needs to take better care of his mouth because I hate suffering from this! I don't think it's aftershave or anything like that, but thank you for the opinion! I might need to tell him to get checked out sometime for oral thrush.

Do he smoke? cause that can cause some problems..the mouth carries a lot of germs..it has a lot of bacteria in it...and I hope he washes his hands before he go in that area..cause you wouldnt let a doctor do an exam without clean gloves..its not always the woman you know..your right it might just be him..
