Depo shot

I am sorry if this is the wrong forum to post this in, I thought i had already posted last night but apparently I didn't, i am new to this forum , i am 23 years old, i already have one child and have had three miscarriages. my questions is about the depo shot , i have only had the depo shot once, and i stopped taking it, i however have been bleeding while on the shot and now that i am off of it.  Which has been rougly two to three months straight stopping maybe once in a while. Back in June when it was getting closer to get another dose of the depo, for two weeks i started having tons of pregancy symptoms, and then yet again started bleeding like crazy. But pregnancy test came back negative along with the blood test i got at the doctors office. I have told my dr. that i have been bleeding ever since the shot except for the first three weeks. Well i guess my questions is , is this normal with this shot, i have never had it before. Some days its really light other days its alot heavier then usual. Is this something i need to be concerned with?

Well when i was 16 my parents put me on the depo because it saved them money and i was on it for like 9mths. I took my self off of it because it was giving me severe lower stomach cramps and making me gain lots of weight i gained 45pounds in the first 3months being on the depo. My doc never gave me a pamplet or nothing and the only answer he would give me about my questions was that if i wanted to have kids one day that i would have to wait atleast 18months after getting off the depo before tring.  However I have been with my husband now for 5 years and we are ready to start a family. We have been having unpertected sex for 3years now and have never gotten prego. we never really thought to much about it because we are still young and wewere more interested in other things but now that we are ready and look back on it we realize that all of it could be from the depo,  cause i have the same problem as you but i bleed for 6months straight and then had messed up periods ever since. example: 3months on 2weeks off and even 5months on and 1-3 days off for the last 4 years and every doc i go to says that theres nothing wrong with me that my periods will fix when their ready.  I thought that maybe it was my husband but he got tested and hes fine and the docs ust don't seem to want to tell me if there is any thing wrong with me. any  ideas on what could be wrong or any clues as to what i could do or has anyone else ever had theis problem with the depo shot??????? please help me yall are my only hope at getting some real answers.... thanks

That's all I had was one shot this last time! It can mess you up very bad, You're injecting hormones into your body. Anytime that happens things can happen, positive or negative. I would call another Dr. if he isn't paying any attention to you, you can't just go on bleeding it needs to be controlled!

I have told him. He said that sometimes the shot will do that. but i don't see how having just one shot could mess up my body so much .

I would call your Dr. I've been on the shot two times. They have told me if I bleed for more than 2-3 weeks after coming off of it then to call them so they can give me some meds to counter act that and stop the bleeding.
