Discharge and other vaginal complications

For over two weeks now I have had a very increased white discharge that has a pungent smell(that doesnt seem yellow or clumpy enough to go along with the symptoms of a yeast infection). I tried applying yoghurt, tea tree oil, and garlic (as websites online suggest treating a yeast infection) and have been eating yoghurt every day, and on most days, twice or three times a day. All to no avail.
It may be irrelevant, but I have noticed that the discharge only seems to be when I am on the pill. For, before my period started and on the 'off cycle' when I wasn't bleeding (period), there seemed to be no discharge. And on days when I forget my pill and take it in the afternoon, I seem to have no discharge from that morning.
However, recently I have been noticing blood on my toilet paper. So, curiosity today made me see if I was still on my period, which I shouldn't be as I resumed my cycle on the pill almost an entire week ago.
I noticed that this blood is coming from the pink inner skins of my labias - what I think are called my labias, and this area is very sensitive. The toilet paper had more blood with each time I touched it to this pink, sensitive area. So I tried to further investigate and found that there were fine hair line cracks of blood where it would 'wrinkle' to fold back into 'normal position'. Now, these hair line cracks are thicker. The blood is not 'fresh' looking (more like open wounds) as it was before but it still hurts.
After reading on the internet I would think that perhaps I had 'vulvitis'. I dont want to go to the doctor. Please help. Thank you so m

just a question-did the smell start before you started applying all that stuff(i mean garlic-i know its not great for the breath so the same may hold true for down there)go to your dr have it checked out.why dont you want to go to the dr?you are obviouslt sressed out about this.we as women need to take responsibility for our bodies -and you have nothing to be ashamed about.

It definitely sounds like an infection of some kind.

Have you tried using Monistat for a yeast infection?  You might want to give that a try and stop using garlic - that can't be good.

If the Monistat doesn't help then you should buck up and go to the doc.

Good luck!!

I noticed the formum is not monitored by a doc.  I'm a medical student, NOT a doctor but might be able to help a little.
The things that can cause a foul smelling discharge are numerous (from trichimonas, to BV or vaginosis, to a simple yeast infection).  The two most important points are 1) STOP using the home remedies, they dont work and might hurt. 2) Go see a doctor.  Most of these conditions are VERY common and are easily treatable with OTC medications or a simple prescription.
