Dr. Appointment

Is it normal that my first Dr. Appointment isn't until December 20?  Seems a little late to me.  Also, are cramps normal?  They aren't really intense or anything, but they are pretty constant period-like cramps.  Thanks for all the comments about gender selection.  One chinese chart says it's a boy and the other says it's a girl....so who knows?!

It is normal not to be seen until between 8-12 weeks. Cramps are normal as long as no bleeding occurs.

I got a BFP on Aug 12 and my doc would not see me until Sept.  I was 9 1/2 weeks when I saw the doc.  Also, I had cramps like my period was coming for probably the first 12 weeks.  No worries unless there is bleeding (and still it may be nothing.).

I had the same thing with the cramps.  I remember the nurse telling me long before I became pregnant that if I was pregnant that I would not have cramping.  That is a big fat lie.  I think you get the cramping around the time that AF is supposed to arrive.  To be afact I remember When I tested positive for pg that I thought to myself I can't be pregnant cause I am cramping.  Yeah rite.  I could not believe I was pregnant three HPT's and a blood test could not make me believe till I heard the heart beat.  Now he is three and I wish he would stop asking me fifty questions.  LOL  He is learning!  I'm waiting for the one question that is enevitable,......"Mom, where do babies come from?"  lol

Thanks ladies.  I'm not sure how far along i am.  I thought my last period was October 25, but I just had spotting, so now i'm thinking that I could be a lot farther along than i had originally thought when I took the test this past weekend.  So it will be exciting to get to the doctor and see just how far along i am.

That would be really exciting if you were actually further along! As for seeing your doc late, in Canada most OBs won't see you until you're atleast 12 weeks, but many of then wait until 16 weeks. With my DD I was 17 weeks when I saw my OB for the first time.

Im in North Carolina and when my friend was pregnant she had to go to the Dr. at 4,8, 12,and 16 just because those are the times a m/c is more likely to occur because that is when you should be having AF.  When she first missed her period and took a HPT and got a BFP she called the Dr. and they scheduled her an appt. for that week.  But all Dr.'s are different.  Best of Luck!!!
