Eating healthy affecting my period? HELP

Hi I recently have changed my diet to eating healthy and also have been exercising. I have been having a light period for 3 weeks now and I assume its because of my diet change but would like to know more about it and also when it will stop. Also I am 22 and am not or ever have been on birth control. Thanks in advance

Hi there.  Well, I'm actually doing the same thing these days.  LOL  I did a complete diet overhaul and eliminated sugar as well as cutting fat and calories.  I'm exercising 5 to 6 days a week as well.  I've read that these changes can almost be like a withdrawal for your body.  Your body has to process things a bit differently.  No doubt that can affect your hormones.

I was late the first month and this month felt like I was early by a few days.  I had spotting midcycle just a tiny bit of pink/red.  Just once.  

However, if you are spotting straight for 3 solid weeks, I'd think maybe your hormones are adjusting to your new healthy lifestyle but would want to confirm that with your doctor.  How long has it been since you have had a pap smear/ pelvic exam?  

I'm wondering if it wouldn't be a good time to have that done.  >)  good luck hon

Thanks for the reply :) I've actually never been to an ob gyn bad I know! I guess now would be the perfect time to go lol. Glad to hear your living a healthy life style and thanks for the info!  ;)
