Endometrial Hyperplasia -- I do not know type yet

I am 61. Began menopause in late 40s. Am now 61. Began bleeding heavily in July and bled for 2 months straight. Stopped and started back again for about a week.  Saw gyn. He said he didn't see anything abnormal but ordered an ultrasound and found thickened lining. He didn't say how thick. Ordered a d&c and hysteroscopy. Had this done on 10/18.  Do not have results yet.  He has already said he doesn't want to give me hormones. I am diabetic, overweight, bmi is over 35 and have breast cancer on my mother's side including my mother who died of it.  Given that he doesn't want me to have hormones what do you think his recommendation will be even if it is not cancer (which I think they would have told me by now if it was).
