Faint Line on HPT

I am about 8-10 dpo and took 2 1st repsponse early HPT's, both came back with a barely noticeble Faint line where the positive result would be.  My period isnt due for a few more days so I dont know what to think.

This morning I took another test, the same one and got a negative.  I am not sure what is going on.  What could cause 2 positives and then get a negative.  I have not started my period??

That depends -  by faint line do you mean a coloured line, or one of those lines that have no colour? If there is colour in the line then all I would say is... congrats!!! :O)

I had the SAME thing happen with the SAME test!  It is a positive.  I was pregnant....take another tomorrow, it should be darker...sometimes it is just the test, and not actually have anything to do with your HCG beta levels.  I took 3 all in the same day, and one was so faint, that I read it as a neg. and noticed the line when I went to throw it away....I took 2 more the same day that were significantly darker....the 2nd one was actually darker than the 3rd.

Hi there,
I also used the First Response test and got a positive 5 days before af was due. It was very light, but I had used enough of them before and had never had ANY line (evap, or otherwise) and there it was! I would say CONGRATS!

You may be pg, but wait a few days and take another.  The test may be detecting faint levels of hcg because it may be sooo early. Wait a few days until you expect your period and if you don't get AF try another test...of course you can also see your OB/GYN they can do a blood test and give you an answer as well.  Take care and good luck!
