Fibroids

My period has been irregular for the past 6 months. My last period started on April 6 and finally ended on May 5. Well it is now May 25 and I started bleeding again. It's very light bleeding with a little bit of cramping. Even though my period has been irregular it hasn't been heavy bleeding, it's always light more like spotting. I heard it might be fibroids but I don't have insurance yet and can't afford to see the doctor. Has anyone had fibroids and can tell me a little bit about them. And do you skip your period when you have them cause I've skipped a few.

Hello, I am kind of in the same dilema as you are. I have had irregular bleeding for 4mos. I got my period again this month on the 5th and its the 25th today. I am concerned that it may be fibroids but as well don't have insurance. It is light bleeding and then on some days it will be more steady not heavy but like a regular period then back to light. However I do get kind of crampy and have clots from time to time. I don't know if clots are ok or if it is something to worry about. My irregularity happened after a d&c I had 2yrs ago. I started with heavy bleeding and clots and very strong cramps. Then just a couple of months ago I noticed I would get my period two times in a month and even lasted all month. Sorry for making it so long. I just felt I wasn't alone in this. And it seems more common as I've seen on this site. Thanks for listening.

I had a 12mm fibroid, and ended up having a hysterectomy 2 months ago.  (I am 50 yrs old) I too did not have insurance, and for the last  12 years suffered from very heavy bleeding.  I started to use a pad and a tampon. When that no longer worked I started using incontinence pads. I would have to sleep with a towel between my legs if I didn't want to keep getting up to change several times each night.  I bled on people's furniture and car seats.  Ruined clothes, sheets, mattresses, etc.  My cramps were so severe ,  I had to live off of ibuprofen.  I couldn't hold a job because I called out 3 days every month
I missed grandchildren birthdays, and family get together because I couldn't leave the house.  Now, is this what you are experiencing?  It doesn't sound like it.  I would get to a free clinic though, and see about getting on birth control. That will help keep you on a normal cycle.
