First time on Birth Control Pills

Hi all,

I decided to start taking birth control pills very recently.. And to start on the first day of my menstrual cycle. I noticed some discharge on my pad on August 1st, so that's when I started my first package... But then no period came? As far as I know, I'm still supposed to have my regular period the first week, right? It's August 8th now, and still no period...

I haven't had sex since the beginning of June, and my period came at the end of June/early July completely regularly.

Is there any possibility that I'm pregnant?

Thanks!

I've never heard to take your pill the first day of your period.  When I started birth control I was told to take the first active pill the Sunday after my period.  Then your next period should be when you start the "sugar" pills.  In my case, I start my "sugar" pills on Sunday and I usually start my period on Monday or Tuesday and end by Friday or Saturday.

Oh.. I meant the first day I took the pill, I followed the instructions that said to take them as soon as your period comes. As soon as I saw discharge in my pad, I took the first pill, but then no period came the next day. This is normal? I was under the impression that the period that tells you to take your first pill should be normal, and that you'll get two periods your first month on birth control pills.

you are fine. you are not pregnant if you had your last period, do not worry! keep taking your pills. they will stop your period from coming, you may have breakthrough bleeding in the next couple of days, but I'd take the whole month's worth of pills, and you will have a period in around 24 days after your last pill.

you can start the pill anytime you want to really.....because you are not sure what happened to your period, you should wait and take one month's worth of pills before you rely on them fully.

You will only get your period when you are on the white "sugar" pills. That is at the end of the month. But every person is different while on birth control, some do not even have a period while taking them. If your concerned about being pregnant the doctor that put you onto the pills should of asked that before and had you take a pregnancy test.
