Fishy yellow discharge?

I'm a teen & a virgin and ive had discharge ever since I hit puperty. I don't think the color or consistency has changed since... it's always been white/yellow when it dries on my underpants. I get a lot of it and is honestly really annoying. Anyways, there's this fishy smell when I get up close and personal with it, it's been there for quite some time but I've always ignored it because it never bothered me. Should I worry about an infection?.... it's really weird talking about it to my mom so please help, I'd appreciate it.

Hi,
You might have a minor vaginal infection, such as bacterial vaginosis ("BV") or a yeast infection ~ you can research both online for an in-depth description of symptoms and treatments. They're common, and either infection can occur in women without ever being sexually active. You'll need to have this properly diagnosed by a doctor after an examination, before you can be treated for an infection. It's understandable that you might feel uneasy about talking w/ your mom about this, but I think that you'll find that your mom will probably be more understanding and helpful than you expect. Hang in there :)
