I just started Clomid on day 5 wich was the 20th. I got pg the first time on my own as well but gained weight and now been Dx with PCOS. I am so afraid! I want to be successful and trying to see if there is anything else I can do to increase my chances other than taking the clomid?

I just took my first round of Clomid on day 5-9. I got pregnant with my son (19 months) without trying, but having difficulty getting pregnant this time when I'm actually trying. I'm nervous and praying for a healthy baby. I just have to wait and hope I don't start my period at the end of the month!! Good luck to everyone!!!

I took it on CD 5 to CD 7.  You will ovulate 5-10 days after taking the last pill.

I remember starting on CD3. I took 50 mg the first cycle, but then I didn't ovulate till day 17, so the next cycle I took 100 and got my HcG shot on day 14.

I have taken both provera and clomid. My dr told me to take my clomid (50mg daily for 5 day) on cd 2-6...here is a really good site for clomid info:

http://www.tryingtoconceive.com/clomid.htm

scroll down a little and it tells you when to take it.

What mg did they start you on?  The label the pharmacy put on the clomid doesnt say how to take it?  You can always call and ask your pharmcist what they think since they are familiar with drugs and they can look it up to tell you the normal dosing.  But normally I see clomid dispensed as starting off with 50 mg and taking it for the first five days of the menstrual cycle (starting on day 1 of your cycle). When my Dr is out of town his nurses are still in the office in case of emergencies or questions...if they are there you can call and it would be in your chart how he wants you to take the clomid. Best of luck!  I havent personally taken clomid just filled the prescriptions...hopefully someone that has used it can tell you how they took it.

i am on provera and when i get my next period then my ob is going to start me on clomid. i have heard of some people having to take it usually starting w/day 5. but i think it all depends on how strong of the clomid you are on.  My ob also stated that you must have sex on days 13-18 of your cycle and preferrably every 36 hours or everyday if you want.
