HELP DEPO SHOT!!!

I went to the doctor November of 2015 because I was experiencing very heavy periods and unbearable pain he suggested i get a shot to get rid of my problems in 3 months i gained 20 pounds and bad acne i decided not to go back and take the second shot. No birth control after i didn't have a period until August 2016and now on week 3 of heavy bleeding and cramps. Is this normal or should i be worried i wish to get pregnant since me and my husband will be married 3 years in March and wish to start a family sometime soon.

Everyone's body is different. You could have benign uterine polyps (very common) which pull on the lining of your uterine wall that cause longer than normal and heavier bleeding. I recommend you see a GYN/OB. He/She needs to know how long, how heavy and determine if prescribing a 1 week med to "restart" your cycle, or do an abdominal & transvaginal ultrasound- to see if you have polyps/or cysts causing your symptoms.

If this is the case, a simple D and C (Dilation and Cutterage- OutPatient Procedure) should fix the problem- for a few years at least.

Hope this helps. You shouldn't have any problem conceiving after.
