Heavy bleeding after miscarrage

I just recently had a natural miscarrage, about 4 days ago. I have been bleeding since then with alot of clots too. Is this normal? I was just using a tampon, but it only lasted for about 30 minutes. I now am having to use a tampon and a pad at the same time to keep my clothes dry, and to keep it from running down my legs. I know to much info, but I am worried that something maybe wrong, don't know what to do about this. I am a broke college student that has no insurance so going to the doctor is out of the question, I can't pay for it and they wont take me. Can anyone let me know if this is normal or if I just need to go to the ER?

Hi all
Well i have found our on 8th july that i was pregnant, my numbers were 337. two days after this i had abit of pain and went to the hospital, and all was ok at this state, numbers had gone up to 1090 in those 2 days.
4 days after all this, i had brown spotting, went to the hospital again and they said my numbers had dropped to 860, and looks like i had a miscarrage, couldnt see much on the ultrasound, cos it was still too early. Well anyways, that was tuesday last week, 14th july, and i have had no bleeding or pain since. I had to go today for another blood test just to make sure that the numbers were going down like they should, and they tell me today numbers are to 3000. What the hell does all this mean????? Anyone please help

Hey Sweetie,
Hopefully your bleeding has stopped since you last wrote in on 11-6-06, if not, Please go to the emergency room. Honey, it sounds like you are hemorrhaging, and that's is serious business. Babe, listen to me, Please go to the emergency room if the bleeding hasn't subsided!!! I just had a misscarriage on 11-17-06. It was really hard for my husband and I so, I understand where you are coming from.
Keep in touch and let me know how you are doing!

im sorry for your loss. i experienced this too earlier this year. from my understanding you should not use a tampon during a miscarriage. i passed tissue and bled for several days. bad bad cramps. i didnt need to see my dr according to them since it was early and they were sure i passed it all. HOWEVER, if you dont you could get an infection. there are plenty of free or low paying clinics you can try to find one. doesnt your school have a nurse or health center? good luck. dont let not having money or ins keep you from the er if you start to bleed too heavy. your life is worth more than a bill!

I had a miscarriage about seven months ago but I had a D&C so it was not natural.  And that is what exactly happened to me.  I had to call the ER because I was so worried.  My doctor said unless they are bigger than a golf ball it is normal.  I hope this helps.  I am sorry about your miscarriage.

Thanks for your help, my school does have a clinic. I went by there earlier today....they said they did not have the equipment or training to help me with what I had going on....I am trying to find a free or low income clinic around here. Wish me luck.
