Herpes diagnosis! What should I do???? Please help??

About a month ago, I went to a local any lab test now center in my area, and I got an IGG test for hsv 1 and 2. I tested negative for hsv-2, but I did test postive for hsv-1. When the nurse or phlebotomist or whatever she was called me to give me results, she told me that hsv is very common and is nothing to be concerned about. And she also assured that I don't need to seek medical treatment, but I'm not very confident with the information she gave me or lack thereof. My questions are number one do I need to seek medical treatment for hsv-1? And number 2, if I do am I gonna have to take medication for the rest of my life? And three, is herpes going to affect my immune system or my health throughout my life? Please help, I've been so nervous and worried and confused and helpless these last weeks and I  really need some information about he steps I need to take in my life right now

1. Watch out for people with herpes. They'll give it to you...
2. It's the cold-sore kind of herpes, you won't die, but you are contagious.
3. No, you don't need medication, she was right, it's actually a common thing.
