Hi progesterone reading but starting my period???

JLR
Question from someone new...I'm 29 and TTC. I was not having a period or ovulating at all and my doctor diagnosed with PCOD and was put on Clomid. (Had been on birth control pills for many years and did have a regular period) I'm on my second round of 50 mg.  During my first month on clomid I did have a positive on the ovulation predictor and then did the blood work to see what my progesterone level was.  It was a 21.9.  Dr. said that was a good reading but then soon started my period.    After 2nd round of clomid got another positive OPK and then did the blood work again.  This time the progesterone was 36.9, an even better reading.  Since it was so high I thought surely that I was pregnant.  Well, today I have had cramps and some bleeding which was brown.  Is this a period or possibly a sign of a problem like a miscarriage or maybe implantation bleeding?  Any thoughts?  I'm going home tonight to take a hpt but wanted to see if anyone has had similar experience.  Thanks.
