How to increase your chances of IVF success

1. Maintain a healthy weight.
2. Optimize sperm health.
3. Partner with an excellent doctor and embryology laboratory.
4. Reduce your stress.
5. Quit smoking

Take care of yourself and don't blame yourself when things don't go well. You are not alone, it often takes a village to build a family.

My sister had IVF and I was scheduled to and was a day from starting injections when I found out I was pregnant naturally.  (a lot less expensive).  IVF is costly and a great option when others have been exhausted.  But with the onslaught of fertility treatments and doctors, only about 5 percent of the population that wishes to conceive can't.  95 percent can.  Great news overall.  One of the things that helps with fertility treatments and pregnancy is reducing stress too.

But once you have IVF, the statistics are the same for miscarriage.  One in four pregnancies will result in miscarriage no matter the means of conception.

Patients often worry that stress and anxiety of infertility treatment will reduce their chances of becoming pregnant, but a new study from Sweden shows this fear to be unfounded.

Researchers assessed stress levels among women undergoing their first in vitro fertilization treatment and found similar pregnancy rates in women reporting high levels of anxiety and depression and women who did not.

Previous studies evaluating the role of stress in the success or failure of infertility treatments have been mixed, with some suggesting a strong link and others finding no link at all.

Though the latest study doesn't provide a definitive answer to the question of whether stress affects IVF outcome, its large size and prospective design make it one of the strongest ever to address the issue, researchers say.
Hm.  So don't stress about being stressed.  I know though that stress does affect things like my period based on hormone fluctuations so assume this would interfere with conception.  thanks for the info.
