IUD

I just had my IUD REMOVED, after just 1 month of continued bleeding, and vaginal itching I said forget it.  I lost confidence in the bedroom due to worring about the odor, and the red sea.  I'm wondering did anyone only have it in for a month like me and called it quits?  I'm still bleeding heavy too, how long before the bleeding goes away?

Your doctor will remove it the same day.  I wasn't able to feel the strings at one point but I had to feel around the walls and I finally felt it, if you don't feel the strings it's usually because the IUD is out of place, or so that is what the doctor told me.  MY Itchng was constant, my body reacted to the IUD right away, So I really didn't have a regular period I just knew that with the constant cramping and itching that I needed it to be taken out.  MY doc told me that some women just have a uterus that rejects the IUD.
What you will expect from your doctor's visit is a painless removal of your IUD.  My doctor took a bit to grab the strings and I got irritated and it made me anticipate the pain a little more so I felt a bit of a tweek, most women she said don't feel anything.  I bled for about a week after it was removed.  Good luck.

I called to make an appointment, but I can't get in until July 2. I am going to have my yearly pap and ask my doctor to remove it asap. Hopefully the itching will stop. I am grateful for the IUD and its preventions, but, I know that I wasn't haven't all of the problems before I got it inserted last May. As a matter of fact the itching just started earlier this year. If you don't mind me asking, did your itching start right before your period was suppose to start, like a week or so before hand? I hope that is not to personal of a question for you. Also, can you tell me what I have to look forward to when I visit my ob/gyn? Will she be able to remove it on the same day or will I have to set up another appointment just to have it removed? I am hoping that she can and that she is able to see it because I haven't been able to feel the strings.

I feel so much better now that I have gotton the IUD out.  The itching is most definitey because of the IUD, I had severe itching because of it, I think it's got to do with the hormones and I always had to wear pantiliners which made it worse.  I'm so happy now no more bleeding!!

I have had my IUD for a year and some months now. And I have been experiencing some itching but I wasn't sure if it was from the device. I'm wondering if I should get mine removed as well.
