Injection of Heparin

Hi Everyone-
I am five weeks pregnant. I had two miscarriages in last five months. My special Fertility Dr. has put me on many things; one is Heparin Sodium Injection for 10 days (25 units injection morning and night). The injection is by needle that is very thin and short needle. But after injection, the nest day, the area becomes hard and I get busies around it. I inject it around 2" of my belly. Can someone tell me please what the bruises are for? I have left a message tonight for Dr but no call yet. I need answer please.  Thank you.

Hi

I am ~4 weeks pregnant with 2 m/c before and I have also been prescribed with CLEXANE, a type of heparin injection which I take daily on my arms. I was warned by my doctor abt the bruises and pain that may appear due to the kind of injection this is i.e. thin, sharp and should go under skin. Its been 5 days since I am taking them and I actually have 1 serious bruise on my right arm with others just slight marks and lumps. I've checked this with my doctor and she said thats common. So I won't worry abt it if I were you :-) And yes, please try various areas rather than the same spot everyday like twk187 suggested above.

So you are injecting the same spot over and over again? Sounds like the injection sight is irritated. Maybe you should try a new area?
